Attracting over 1,150 representatives from more than 20 countries and hundreds of local and global companies from within the automotive industry, the CTI Symposia events provide insights on markets, trends, and technologies that are disrupting the sector. This year’s focus included a deep dive into powertrain systems, battery technologies, hybrid and electric drive systems as the industry continues on the path to net zero mobility.

As the global leader in drive systems, with a heritage of torque management expertise, GKN Automotive attended the event to share the company’s insights and showcase a variety of its advanced solutions – including its next-generation gearboxes, disconnect systems, limited slip differentials and industry-leading sideshaft technologies.

Representing GKN Automotive, Chief Engineer Paul Reichert, who is based at the company’s Auburn Hills facility in Michigan, US, was invited to present on driveline disconnect systems, looking at disconnect architectures and future innovations, as well as the technology’s shifting requirements for battery electric vehicles.

Paul Reichert commented: “As experts in drive systems and AWD components, it was great to be a part of the CTI Symposium this week to share our insights on the future of disconnect systems for battery electric vehicles – an innovation designed to enhance torque transfer and offer efficiency gains. I welcomed the opportunity to present on next-generation technologies, while sharing our approach to solving some of the sector’s most pressing challenges.”
