GKN Automotive people donate holiday gifts.
Adopt-a-Family is a unique programme that provides holiday gifts for families in need. Through the scheme, families experiencing crisis are paired with a sponsor who receives a wish list for each family member.
Last year GKN Driveline Auburn Hills adopted two families for the holiday season: a single mother caring for her two young children, and two grandparents caring for their three grandchildren. Employees selected and purchased gifts from the wish lists and donated money for items.
Auburn Hills raised money for the families by hosting events that spread holiday cheer and companionship as well as generating donations for Adopt-a-Family. In the end, more than $485 was raised and over 200 gifts were purchased, including new clothing, toys, household items, and food or grocery store gift cards.
