Volunteers tackle affordable housing shortage in Ohio

The GKN ePowertrain Bowling Green team helps Habitat for Humanity make a house a home.

Since the beginning of 2018, the GKN ePowertrain Bowling Green site in Ohio has worked to start an Engagement Team with their employees. Comprised of salary, hourly, and intern associates, this team plans events within it's facility and community to increase engagement and morale.

On June 30th, the team and other GKN Automotive people took part in a Habitat for Humanity build. Habitat for Humanity is a global, non-profit housing organisation with over 40 years of experience.

The organisation empowers people in the world’s poorest communities to overcome the chronic lack of decent, affordable housing. Since 1976, they have helped 9.8 million people in over 70 countries. In Europe, Middle East and Africa, they have supported more than one million people since 2015.

The GKN Automotive people painted the inside of a house for a family in need – and engaged in a fun team building exercise in the process.
