Offenbach provide much needed safety equipment to Caritas in their fight against Coronavirus

Offenbach donated €750 worth of equipment to the nursing home, who were extremely grateful for the selflessness shown by the GKN Automotive team.

The team at GKN Automotive in Offenbach, has been working closely together with Caritas (a well-known German welfare organisation) for many years, primarily with the plant’s in-house medical services. Michael Kein, the Managing Director for Caritas informed the Offenbach plant about the difficult situation that a local care home for elderly people was facing.

The care home was facing a serious shortage of protective equipment, with many of the nursing staff based at the facility unfortunately having to go without. Michael Kein and Caritas came to GKN Automotive for help, after all of their orders for protective equipment had been cancelled, as local hospitals were prrioritised.

Like many other GKN Automotive facilities, the Offenbach team wanted to do what they could to help their local community tackle the Coronavirus outbreak. The team checked their stocks and discovered that they able to provide the urgently needed protective goggles, suits, disinfectants, and masking films. Offenbach donated €750 worth of equipment to the nursing home, who were extremely grateful for the selflessness shown by the GKN Automotive team.
