Roxboro plant donates generously to raise money for local non -profit organisation

In total, the generous employees of the Roxboro plant raised $2,200, this will go a long way and will be greatly appreciated by Safe Haven of Person County.

GKN Automotive’s Roxboro plant held a silent auction and fundraiser luncheon to benefit Safe Haven of Person County. Rather than an auctioneer calling out prices for items and taking raised hands as bids, a silent auction is all done on paper, giving participants the chance to view the items available and see what takes their fancy. Safe Haven is a non-profit organisation in the Roxboro area that provides support services to those who have been affected by domestic violence.

The organisation offer 24-hour hotlines, information and referrals, education, support groups, residential services, personal hygiene products, food and clothing as well as advocacy. The Roxboro plant felt strongly about playing their part to support the Safe Haven organisation, with employees donating gift baskets and other goods including gnomes, which were put forward for the silent auction. As well as the silent auction, all employees were invited to purchase a lunch, with the proceeds going to the charity.
